Finally, which rhymes with enough,

My advice is to give up!!!

Ха! Тот француз увидел, что там полно французских слов, которые остались в английском после Норманнского завоевания.

Camel, constable, и так далее до конца.
Они, как и другие заимствования, были частично приспособлены к англ. нормам произношения. То есть изменилось место ударения и стали произноситься некоторые конечные немые согласные. Конечное T часто не произносится. А некоторые слова: moustache, police, mirage, plaque и др.остались "французскими" Кстати, слово pronunciation тоже из французского ( pronоnciation).
А вообще, если сомневаетесь, то берите словарь с транскрипцией, ничего в этом постыдного нет!

На строчке Script, receipt, show, poem, and toe - посмотрела, сколько ещё осталось и ушла работать шесть месяцев. )))

Мне кажется, стих вообще лучше разбить на несколько частей - слишком уж длинно...
